Each year the DNR does fish census by netting in Minnesota lakes to
determine their conservation and stocking needs. Most lakes have a
slot limit of four walleyes under 18 inches and one over 26 inches.
The 18 to 26 inch walleyes are the best reproducers. The census on
Benedict Lake has consistently shown plenty of walleyes between 18 and 26
inches! Therefore the limit is 6 walleyes, 5 up to 19.5 inches and one
20 inches or more.

Fishing Leech Lake: Benedict Lake is closer to
many of the best fishing spots on Leech Lake-we're
connected by channel-than locations from the east or
south on the big lake over the big water. You
can travel to these spots through more protected
water when others cannot get on the lake due to
windy conditions. You can almost always fish
Benedict Lake when it's windy!
